Job Description:-

  • Manage all phases of supplier performance within India.
  • Defines and develops operational procedures with the local India suppliers including metrics development and formal quarterly business review process.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with operational policy and procedures.
  • Leads development and improvement efforts of India logistics operations for high quality / low cost solutions working in conjunction with 3PL providers.
  • Leads development and improvement efforts of department policies and procedures.
  • Produces reliable and accurate logistics costing and data analysis related to India logistics activities.
  • Assigns tasks and workload to external personnel to ensure optimal utilization of resources and capabilities.
  • Audit freight invoices for logistics services related to India.
  • Process freight invoices and interfacing with 3PL’s and Finance Department for A/R related functions.
  • Initiates freight claims when applicable and have an in-depth understanding of local transportation.
  • Assist in providing resolutions for transportation and customs regulation issues within India that may occur.
  • Assists in identifying needs for new training, tools and documentation for the department.
  • Assists with projects and special reporting when needed.
  • With minimal supervision and direction, manages Import / Export projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develops internal and external supplier relationships as necessary – including Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad Customs.
  • Provides training of the latest Customs regulations for local logistics and related departments, such as Purchasing, Sales, Commodity Sourcing, Demand Planning, Warehousing and external suppliers.
  • Creates compliance programs and drives to complete projects within required timeline. The focus is on India, but can overlap into other global regions also.
  • Provides instructions to other Powerwave sites before shipments to India occur to ensure smooth import process.
  • Able to “translate” HS codes for Indian imports and able to assign HS codes as needed.
  • Works with consultant attorneys, Powerwave Legal, Indian Customs and other Indian agencies to resolve pressing issues.
  • Audits Forwarder’s couriers and Brokers logistics functions and performance to ensure compliance in terms of shipping documentation and Customs clearance. Prepares scorecards to support quarterly business reviews.
  • Applies for binding rulings on Powerwave products.
  • Responsible for exports and imports at all Powerwave sites in India and assists any contract manufacturer.
  • Executes the daily purchasing activities, placing purchase orders and following up with suppliers on the commitment of deliveries
  • Evaluate the suppliers’ performance with on-time delivery matrix
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
