Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) [Specialization: Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Processing Technology, Environmental Science & Engineering and Computational Materials Engineering]

The candidates should have Master Degree in appropriate branch of engineering with minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% from a recognized institute/university. First class Master degree in basic and applied sciences will also be considered. A valid GATE/NET score is necessary for scholarship for candidates without an M.Tech degree.

Application may be sent on plain paper giving details of curriculum vitae including academic achievements and work experience. Applications are generally entertained twice in a year in the months of June and December.

MTech (Foundry-Forge Technology)

MTech (Foundry-Forge Technology)

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Production Engineering or Equivalent Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60% aggregate marks for General and CGPA of 6.0 or 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates. Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of GATE score, marks obtained in last qualifying examinations and interview. A valid GATE score is mandatory for grant of scholarship (Rs.8000/- per month at present) as per AICTE norms. GATE score is not mandatory for sponsored /self financing candidates.

Application forms (indicating name of the course) can be obtained from the office of Chairman, Academic Affairs, NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi -834 003 by sending requisite fee in the form of demand draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOUNDRY AND FORGE TECHNOLOGY payable at Ranchi along with self addressed envelope of size 28×16 cm bearing stamp worth Rs. 25/- Institute will not be responsible for any postal /loss. Alternatively, the application form and other information can be downloaded from the institute’s website www.nifft.ernet.in .
Application Fees: Rs.350/- for General /OBC and Rs.100/-for SC/ST Candidates. Application forms completed in all respect with supporting documents and requisite fees may be sent to the office of Chairmen, Academic Affairs as per following schedule.
